Direct Replacement Remodel
Not every kitchen needs to be gutted or have walls removed. A full gut and redesign of a kitchen usually includes flooring, plumbing relocation and re-wiring. Those projects typically take as much as 6-8 weeks to complete. Many kitchens are well designed and are in need of a simpler remodel. A direct replacement kitchen assumes that the walls and ceiling are in good shape and the locations of the appliances (refrigerator, stove/oven/range, dishwasher, and sink) remain the same. As such, the mechanical systems inside the walls don't have to be disturbed.
Full Gut Renovation
As the name suggests, this is type of remodel includes the removal of existing drywall or plaster on walls and ceiling. All of the existing wiring is removed and replaced to fit the new cabinet layout, meet current electrical code, and install lighting as selected. Plumbing valves and traps are replaced and relocated as needed. New insulation on exterior walls and unconditioned ceilings. New drywall on walls and ceiling and the installation of all kitchen products. No two kitchens are exactly the same, so we customize each project to fit within our 2 week process. Some add-on options such as windows, doors, wall removals, etc. may extend the time frame but are available.
